I was walking the streets of a small hamlet , on the border of Holland/Belgium -- and I saw this sweet elderly lady in a chair, through the front window.....
A walked past a few steps and noticed her door was slightly open // I peered in and waved. She was frozen in her chair but eventually produced a smile. I mainly said hello in Dutch and just kept reading her body language . Her defenses seemed to be mellowing > so I stepped inside.
Sat my tripod down a few feet into the parlor & had a portrait lens mounted . Took out my meter and set my exposure --- 5.6 @ 1/8th. Packed up and waved good bye. As always do ... I jotted down the address and sent a photo to the Mayor of the town ...received a wonderful translated letter back from her son > thanking me kindly for this wonder image of his mother //\\
