Yes, but if you have a display that is capable of having 10-bit and you use a software that can communicate directly with the display to set the calibration, the 10-bit display pipeline is less critical. So, an NEC or EIZO can, with the right software, drive the displays settings internally in 10-bit and Photoshop and Lightroom will use 20-bit precision when transforming from the working space to the display space, so the lack of 10-bit on the Mac is a bit less troubling. Yes, I would like to have a 10-bit pipeline and it pisses me off Apple hasn't done it but it's an edge case situation.
