I was photographing the black-tailed godwit while waiting for the starlings to arrive, and got lucky with the 1/30th shutter speed when it flew under the jetty we were standing on.
The starlings only come this far south in big flocks when it is very cold, this was 2 years ago as this year there were only very small groups. I liked how it looks like they are following the viaduct (they were roosting in reeds under the M5).
