Stephen, you just made me realize that I am really very unobservant. I worked in Shinjuku on and off for a little while, alternating between Tokyo and Kamakura (interesting commute for a gaijin). Would you believe, I never noticed that you could see Fuji-san from Shinjuku?!
I'm not sure about this particular picture, but I really like the yakitori restaurant photo on your blog. Totally captures the atmosphere. Along those lines, have you seen anything by a local photographer named Junku Nishimura? Here's one that came to mind
when I was looking at your shot. A little grittier, but I wouldn't hesitate to guess where either one was taken.
Ah yes, that is a great black and white. Truthfully I am not very good at taking these types of photos, and my hit rate dismal. I really got lucky taking the one on blog, so I don't expect to post many of these. As for Mt. Fuji, it is usually too cloud to see. Sunset I think is easier since it's backlit and you can see the silhouette better.
