It has been a while since I have posted on LuLa. Here is a landscape. Let me know what you think.

Thanks,

Michael

Hello Michael,

Beautiful location! What is that building out there? A house?

If I remember right, it's the Crown Point Lookout Tower which is only accessible via the old Gorge highway. I've been there but it was a long time ago. Nice memory shot for me.

Hi Graham and Chris-

Thanks for taking a look. It is the Vista House at Crown Point. The building is a state park, now undergoing repairs. Why people need to destroy public property is beyond my comprehension but they like to wreck this place. We repair it every few decades. The old Highway is also getting a lot of work. I haven't been getting out much lately but my wife and I went for a drive and I was able to make a few shots. This was taken at the Womens Forum viewpoint. It is a pretty hackneyed location to shoot from and the weather was very overcast but with no wind, unusual for the gorge. It is truly a treasure in Portland's backyard.

Thanks again for the comment.

I really like the contrasts and textures in the foreground.

In the background land, the colour temperature seems a little blue. I could believe this was taken with film.

The sky has potential for more structure, using local contrast adjustments or curves.

My 2 cents.

Hi Scott-

Thanks for commenting. It is digital. This was shot on a pretty dull day with broken overcast. I used some channel blending and LAB moves to improve the detail and color. I am pretty sure I pushed the sky to a bluer shade. I tried not to go overboard. I will take another look at the sky and see what I left behind. The Portland area is pretty special with mountains, forest, rivers, ocean and high desert all within a couple of hours.
