Are you using LR & PhotoPhile on iPad?
« on: March 02, 2013, 04:37:45 am »

I came across the PhotoPhile iPad app.  It is a basic photo viewing app but it also provides integration with LR with collections through the publishing services.  I have downloaded the app and LR plug-in and it pretty much works as advertised although I haven't tried the 2 way sync function back to Lightroom (you can change rankings, etc in the iPad app and sync it back to LR).  My preliminary testing has been on a travel catalog on my MBP and not on my main MP system back in the office.

With my computer systems background I've seen too many times where 3rd party apps can screw up or destroy the host database.  For that reason I'm very reluctant to sync changes back to my LR library.  Anybody try this app and have any experiences?

I know there are other apps, I'm curious about this one specifically.  I'm assessing a number of them for a client.

There are a number of apps that allow for integration with LR, both Apple and Android.  I've got one for Android called Photo Mate that allows you to keyword, apply star/colour ratings and even edit the RAW file.  All of that information gets saved out to xmp files which LR can then read when the images are transferred to the desktop computer.
