DTP-70 on Win7 64 ??
« on: February 27, 2013, 11:52:53 am »

Anyone managed to get a DTP-70 to work on Windows 7 64bit ?
X-Rite tell me it will only run on XP 32bt, which is odd as their web site has unified drivers for 64bit Vista!

That device as well as other legacy colorimeter solutions from Xrite like the DTP94 will not work on Win 7 64 with the Vista 64 device driver package.

Long story short - get a new colorimeter for Win 7 64. Sorry!

What driver are you seeing the DTP70 using ?

The X-Rite supplied driver just crashes the system on W7 64 here, but one other person has reported success when using it on a system with EFI installed, so it may be a driver supplied with that (#13 http://www.luminous-landscape.com/forum/index.php?topic=75750.0)

What is EFI? Are you using Spectraview software. Please share your details if you have a solution.

What is EFI?
EFI are one of the bigger players in the RIP market. Many of their RIPS have their own profiling capabilities, so have supported the DTP-70 in the past.
What's not clear is if they have their own 64bit driver or they work with the unified driver.

Are you using Spectraview software.
Not sure why this would have any significance at all.

That would certainly help, but so far no reply.

I recently managed to borrow a DTP70 to try to calibrate an Epson printer.
I realise this is replying to a very old topic but I agree with MonsterBaby I have installed the unified driver for Vista 64bit and it works fine with my Win64 bit.
