Epson LFP viewing lights hack
« on: February 18, 2013, 03:37:09 pm »

Just sharing a slight modification I made to my Epson 11880 LFP a couple of months ago to allow me to view what's being printed a little bit better.

I basically took a bunch of LED light strips from Ikea and stuck it behind the front cover to help me in spotting print errors before too much ink and paper are wasted.

Nice and bright... I suppose the power cord come out at the far end of the carriage? Is this the same 11880 that had matte black/head problems? Did you end up replacing the print head?

When I saw the title of this post, I thought you were looking for 'Cylon/psylon Mode'  ;D

Yessir this is the one. Ended up replacing the head. Now it's as good as new. 1 head change every 3 years is quite good already I feel. :D

Yep you can see the white power cord snaking out of side from below the front cover.
