Rusty pier, Aktau, Kazakhstan - into the Caspian

This one was taken from the top of the pier, looking into the Caspian. I visit this location every 6 months or so, and the feel of the place does not change much: isolated and derelict. In the winter, there are no beach goers though...
I like this one because it takes me there again, looking into the sea.

Nice viewpoint, interesting image. But my first thought almost immediately was B&W, perhaps because the colors don't mix well in the sense of being attractive (though they look very realistic), yet they are usefully separated...

I like the "wire tunnel". It adds a something new tom a classical composition. Between the weather and the lack of human presence, it conveys a sense of abandon.

I like it. I don't see much in the way of rust, though, and I agree with Oscar that b&w might well look better. I wonder too if a long exposure, to blur the sea, might not improve it (yes, it's a bit of a cliché, but it still might work).

Me too, monochrome all the way. Nice shot.

Another vote for a desaturated image, and as was suggested, a longer exposure. Great location, though.

I like this picture! It's very unique. The vanishing point is great. Pramote
