Transferring Nik Plugins from CS5 to CS6
« on: February 02, 2013, 07:35:51 am »

I just upgraded my PS/CS from 5 to 6 and while the CS5 access was right there in the CS window, the new CS6 app did not "go get" them.  How do I interface the Nik plugins withe CS6 (this is probably elementary, but at the moment I can't see the forest for the trees)?  :)

Best practice is download the most recent versions from the developer and run the actual installer. Trying to copy the plug-ins over to the CS6 Plug-ins folder "may work" but it's not the best way of working. For heaven's sake do NOT direct Photoshop CS6 to use the main Plug-ins folder of CS5. You will have massive problems if you do...

Thanks Schewe, and I'm honored that you chose to respond and help me with this issue (I have one of your books).
