I would love to get a new NEC PA27W monitor with the Spectraview II software and sensor device. A friend just got this same set up and the NEC calibration device certainly looks like the i1 Display Pro except for the NEC label. Does anyone know if they are identical or if there is something "special" about the one that comes with the NEC Spectraview II software bundle? I know the Spectraview II software is unique to the NEC.
Thanks.

Same instrument that NEC OEM's from X-rite.

Keep in mind that there IS a lock inside this unit such it only operates with the NEC display and software. So if you wanted to use it on another display (non SpectraView), not going to work. Otherwise however, the unit is identical to the X-Rite product, cost a bit less (with X-rite, you can use it on the SpectraView OR another display system).
