Profile File Sizes - Why so Different?

I have about 50 profiles installed on my PC. Some are .icc, some .icm, and a few other types. The file sizes range from 1KB to 1,637KB. Why such a big difference?

Color space profiles like Adobe RGB are quite small. Output profiles–depending on how there are made can be larger because they must contain multiple rendering intents and by-directional tables. Input profiles (scanners, cameras) are smaller although not as small as color space profiles. This is normal and to be expected...

There are simple
matrix based profiles
that contain just a few data points and then there are
table based profiles
that contain a bunch of tables full of data that more precisely define the irregular characteristics of a device and how conversions are to be handled for each intent. Table based profiles can be made in various resolutions (larger or smaller tables) which also effects file size...
