Any opinions about Imacon Hasselblad cfh digital back ?
« on: January 26, 2013, 06:21:16 AM »

I might get hold on a Hasselblad Imacon cfh back.

I kind of lost track on all these new or now already old backs popping up.

Am quite comfortable whith my EOS 5D II. But shift and tilt is sometimes only ok.
Just doing some slow jewelry and food shots.

So this back would like improve things for me on my view cam ?

Back seems to have 22 Mpix, which would be ok for me.
Kodak sensor with nice color renderings ? Looks like big pixels, so no lens madness?
No microlenses ? easy triggerable with simple flash sync ?
Looks like no weird cables and stuff.
Tethered usage on viewcam would be ok for me. Will my old Apple macbook power the back ?
Is this Hasselblad software good ?
Am I wrong somewhere ?

Cant find any pixel peeping comparrison for this back and Eos on the web.

Anyone still using this or am I again too old fashioned ?

Best regards.

I've used several CF backs on my X-Act2 and Rollei 6008AF cameras.  I like the look of the files from these backs at base iso and its a good choice for a technical camera.   File quality will be better than the 5D2 in color and detail even with the older backs at base ISO with good light.    Live view when tethering for focus isn't going to compare to live view on your 5D2. It's slow and doesn't work with too much light to too little light but it is workable.
