2 monitors/one Mac Mini/LR4
« on: January 24, 2013, 08:23:03 pm »

I use LR4 only along with NIK plug-ins and would like to have the LR grid displayed on one cheap uncalibrated/old screen which is VGA input only and edit on the other screen which is a NEC PA241-BK calibrated with Spectraview II.

The computer would be the latest generation Mac Mini, maximally speced with quad core, fusion drive and 16GB RAM.  This would have a Thunderbolt port which I have the NEC monitor attached via Display port.  The NEC also has DVI ports and the Mac Mini has an HDMI port remaining.

Is it possible to achieve the functionality in LR4 and if so, is there a way to connect the 2 types of monitors to this new Mac Mini given the correct adapters?

If you have two monitors connected to and recognised by your Mac, LR4 will certainly allow you to show thumbnails on one and edit on the other: that's how I work at home. Whether you can get two monitors connected with the hardware you describe, I don't know.
