Alice Springs from a balloon
« on: January 12, 2013, 05:59:14 pm »

Just opened up Adobe Bridge as I was looking for an image and it opened up with images from Central Australia.

The balloon ride was great but it is getting expensive now. I was told that the spinifex was planted in concentric rings to prevent dust blowing onto the nearby airport but I haven't been able to find any information to back it up.

Nice images Tom.
The third in particular stands out for me.

They look like spirals to me.

You are correct, they are spirals.

If I did another balloon flight it would have to be in Cappadocia, Turkey. Images from there look spectacular. I've been there on the ground and it is a very special place. From the air it would be something else.

I may be the only one, but I read 'Alice springs from a balloon' and wondered if she had a parachute for the descent and whether your frame rate would be high enough to capture some usable images if it didn't open.   ;)
