Well Chris, you certainly have not been the only one to shoot this windmill!

The bare outlines of the superstructure of the windmill as well as the bare branches of the trees or bushes certainly accentuate that dismal sky.
I shiver just looking at it.

I would let you continue to shiver but I shot this wearing shorts and a t-shirt. Those were rain clouds a brewing for a late evening shower. It was 79 degrees outside...Florida, winter, go figure.

Darn, I was looking at that vane with Chicago printed on it and thinking of a Mid-Western winter.

This particular unit, while it is no longer used to pump water, ina good wind will put on quite a spin. The owner's grandfather put it up in 1913.
