Morning Fog & Trees, Lone Madrone Winery, High Key
« on: January 03, 2013, 10:56:34 am »

I almost never go for anything that I didn't see in the shot originally, like what some settings in certain PP software call 'high key', but I was fooling around with this one for a bit and the effect just seemed to fit.

The effect is pleasing but I am confused as to why there is a "sepia-ish tone in the bottom part of the frame and more conventional in the top part.

Might be "smart"-desaturation? I agree that pure B&W would be better but I like this photo a lot.

 It is a color photograph.

Likely from some slight desaturation I did when trying to replicate a high-key look.  I didn't use any filter/setting called 'high-key', but rather tried to achieve it by manipulating exposure, whites, clarity, etc....

Still, it was very foggy, and that is dirt, after all.  I tried to leave the color 'as is' as much as possible.

Oppsy...I really thought it was a B&W conversion...sily me but did note I liked the photo very much. Two wet noodles, one pat on the head.  :)
