The difference is this shot was made while the boat was clipping along at 15.2 knots in five to seven foot seas. This is a 3 second exposure, f:9 ISO 100

I think you might want to approach the ship/cruise marketing department with those two shots (the other one being the first you posted from the trip). Quite remarkable.
