Umfolozi
« on: January 01, 2013, 02:46:55 am »

Hi

I have just got back from eight days in the bush, here are a few shots that I liked. (Tony Jay, don't get too homesick! ;) )

I love them all but the wild dog is a favourite species.
Thanks for thinking of me!

For me, it's the buff: great shape and the fear of God were it in front of me.

They're all good but my favourite is the buffalo: great composition.

Figures Rob would be looking for something in the buff...  ;D

The elephant calf definitely gets the cuteness vote, but they're all good!

My faves (of a fine bunch) are the elephant calf and the wild dog.

OK, the lioness doesn't get much love but I like it a lot. The buffalo and the wild dog are also high on my list…

Thank-you all for the lovely comments.

The lion was interesting because we sat watching her for about three hours. In this particular shot she is very interested in two zebra that came to drink - that is why she is staring so intently in their direction. I thought I was about to hit the jackpot with a chase and a kill, but the zebra saw her and made off rather rapidly.

A while later some impala came to the waterhole but were scared off by the ill-timed arrival of a bunch of cars.

One day....maybe...

2533 is my favourite as well. The eye contact and strong framing make it work for me.
