If an image is in a stack and the stack is collapsed, the image does not show up when filtering keywords. Is there a work around, aside form expanding all stacks?

I do have a solution for you.
While filtering images in stacks does not give the required result creating a smart collection with the appropriate criteria will ferret out all the images in the stack provided they all share the metadata or keywords that comprise the relevent search criteria.
