Epson to replace 11880?
« on: December 24, 2012, 08:25:57 pm »

I see $2,000 discounts on the 11880.

Is Epson soon to replace it with a newer model?

Or is the competition with the new Canon iPF9400 that fierce?

Epson has had discounts on the printer for months.  The GS6000 (Solvent printer was discontinued from Epson about 3 months ago) and came out with 3 new solvent printers (64").  The 11880 won't be discontinued for a while (no rumors about it being discontinued yet).

The Canon IPF9400 is very close in quality, but speed may be a bit quicker with Canon.  Both brands have done great quality and speed to be pretty comparable.

If you have any questions with the models, feel free to contact us.

The 9400 from canon has a much greater color gamut compare to the 11880
just like the 8300 vs the 9880 back in that time

We've printer on the 8300 and the 9890, the colors are very close to each other with the same media and settings.  But we do see the Canon comes out a bit better.  With Canon's discounts, the price is almost unbeatable (no reason not to go with Canon).

We do sell these printers with the discounts if you were curious on prices.  But, I would recommend Canon printers!

I just checked the prices on the ipf6400.  It appears there are no rebates on the printer other than the trade-in rebate which I don't qualify for.  Is there a certain time of year that Canon offers wide format printer rebates that are as big as the current Epson rebates?  Thanks.

There is a $300 Mail-in and $300 Trade-in going for the IPF6400.
You can go to our site and put in this product number for the printer.  5339B002AA

Our site shows all discounts that are currently going on as well as any other promos that we may offer.
Since these are the newer models, Canon may not have a bigger discount until middle to end of next year (possibly).

Hi Chris.  Your site shows that the $300 mail-in rebate ended on 12/15/12.

You are correct on that.  I remember that discount being for the IPF8300 ending on 12/15.  Canon must have updated the Mail-in as well for the newer models.  I will check if they are doing anything else and get back to you.

At the moment, there isn't any additional Mail-in with Canon.  This may change in January.
