Reminds me of mating rituals when I was in school in the 50s.

Now, only the dogs don't get accused/prosecuted for being politically incorrect (what a confused term, matching the concept!). Some mess some of us wished upon the rest of us.

An American university import, of course, from the era of muddled thinking. But, as they say, shit sticks, even on the innocent and the pure.
