Swopping Epson 3800 between Vista 64 bit and Win 7 64 bit
« on: December 19, 2012, 06:20:57 am »

Epson 3800 operates as standalone with USB connection to Vista 64 desktop. Tried to print via Win 7 64 laptop with 3800 driver loaded and set to default printer (also USB connection) and wouldn't print. Initially indicated printer status ready and got documents in queue but refused to print. (Actually it printed something that was in the queue on another printer - no idea how) Then wouldn't spool up any files and got yellow error message next to printer symbol in devices and printers. I thought these things were plug and play? I'm not trying to create a network, just switch leads so that I can print from 2 machines. This is a bit worrying because Win 7 laptop will soon be my default machine. Is there an issue between 3800 and Win 7 64

Not at all. I have printed to a 3800 from a Thinkpad laptop and an HP workstation, both Win 7 64 bit, with no problems at all. All I can suggest in your case is to download the driver again, checking that it is indeed the correct one, uninstall the old one and replace with the new one. Maybe a general google of the problem will throw some light on it, usually does for me.

No, works fine here.
Although Epson UK's web site didn't offer any drivers last time I tried, some fault at their end they say.

There are certain steps which are to be followed when you upgrade the drivers of your printer.I also had similar problem and at that time the technician told me that I didn't followed the steps correctly which caused me the problem. The edition an the connection type must be correct.I would suggest you to check them once.

Read it in details from this link designjet ink.

This is the euro 3800 drivers site works.

the first one is the specific site for the 3800 (mac osx-)
