Well What is Going on with the HP Z3200?
« on: December 11, 2012, 11:14:02 pm »

I just checked and the Z3200 is still being advertised on the HP website. It is still being sold by Lexjet and some others ( BH says discountined?).

Strangely Lexjet is selling it for $5,700.00  while they are selling the Epson 9890 for $3,200.00. A year ago they were underselling Epson and about the same price as Canon.

I love the stability of these inks and the dmax and lack of any technical issues. I hope they keep them on the market. But it looks like they are most interested in graphic designers these days. I still keep my Z3100 in warranty. I'd really miss not having one.

All the Z3200 versions are still available in the German catalog. So are some Z2100 models and the T790, T1300 and similar models that share an identical design and roll widths of 24"and 44".  Pricing of the Z3200 is above the competition but the Zs still have that advantage of integrated spectrometers + the software to make profiles. Also bear in mind that the Designjet 130 is still in the catalog, an even older design than the Z range. It would not surprise me if HP just relies on longer product cycles.

My supplier still has the duo packs including the Chromatic Red Nr73.

I just bough a z2100 direct from HP, I am able to get beautiful prints
they told me that they have no intention of discontinuing this series
I did not feel I needed the 12 color model since I only print my paintings on rag.
Some of the z3200 models are out of stock on back order I could have got the ps z3200
but did not want to pay the extra$
