Mullet Run
« on: December 08, 2012, 11:48:51 pm »

Decent fish to eat, though best smoked. Occasionally they make runs into the bay to warmer waters often followed by great schools of porpoises...alas today it was only the little fishies.

I like how the fish are outlined. It makes them look ghostly.

I like this one. I think people who like fish and nature would find it charming.

Well done. It feels to me like the angle of view is critical, to create the outlining effect of the white belly, here. I like the semi-abstract pattern of fish against the wavelets!

Thanks everyone for the comments. In the beginning I alluded to these being little fishies but in reality they are from 15-20 inches in length, some a bit larger. In this particular school, I would estimate somewhere in the neighborhood of a thousand fish over a 100 foot x 100 foot area. I wish it had been a little later in the day and I'd had a polaraizer with me. New lens, bad planning  ;D.

I like this image, but I have to say that I was mislead by the title.  I was hoping to see a bunch of people with the mullet hairstyle running.

I was going to go with "By the Light of the Silvery Morn" but thought that may also be misleading...and afterall, they are mullet.

That is funny.  I was born in Meridian and lived most of my life in Columbus, Ms., but I have never heard that before your post.
