Time is Tight
« on: December 05, 2012, 12:03:16 am »

Wondering if there is any way around the time limit for creating a post. Just tried to put an item in the for sale forum, only to watch it go up in smoke upon submission. I wanted to be as accurate and informative as possible, as well as add some attachments, and this seems to have taken longer than the arbitrary time limit allowed. There are some rather lengthy posts in the forums, so others have overcome this.

Seems it could be set up so that you can at least sign in again and have your original message retained. Something I've seen in other venues.

Hi,

There is some time limit.

I have two different aproaches:

1) I copy my text before posting, so I can try again

2) I post early and use modify to fix and improve the posting

Best regards
Erik

... only to watch it go up in smoke upon submission...

If I remember correctly, it doesn't really. Yes, you get a red-letter warning to the effect that your posting timed-out, but just press "Post" again and it should be ok. However, I do often copy the whole text during drafting, just in case.

I do the same but when I'm caught with a timeout, I usually click on the back button of my browser. It works about 90% of the time.

Thanks all -

Guess I'll just start writing missives in Text Edit and then copy to the forum. Seems the easiest way around the situation.
