You might want to share a bit more about what you hope to get out of your monitor ...
I own a number of higher end NEC displays (spectraview) and can't say anything negative about them.
Thank you all for your answers. I decided to go for the third option and to buy this:http://www.eizo.com/global/products/foris/fs2333/index.htmlI hope I was not wrong.
Andrew, I wonder if you can/would comment on Lacie 324i monitors. They are more expensive than the NEC but I wonder if they warrant the extra expense.
Last year I worked with a fellow with a wide gamut RGB LED LaCie but I'm not certain the model off hand (I can ask). What I can tell you was I wasn't at all impressed with the software driving it. We had some issues and I called tech support on site and while the people were quite nice, their support wasn't that effective. And LaCie doesn't make anything, the OEM from others. I'm not sure why this would cost more than an NEC unless indeed it's this tricolor LED unit. NEC a very long time ago (in computer years) built an RGB LED display which at the time cost $5000! It was really nice albeit small. Very difficult engineering to do right. NEC must have learned a few things and decided not to move forward with more RGB LED displays. A review is here if for historical purposes you want to know more about it:http://www.ppmag.com/reviews/200602_neclcddisplay.pdfMany years ago, I was a fan of LaCie and had a number of their products but the quality seemed to suffer more and more until I just moved away from keeping any eye on what they are producing.
Eizo's professional line is quite good. That particular model was designed with gamers in mind, and so may not be the best selection for professional graphics and Photoshop work. The specs on that model are somewhat lacking in detail.
I was aware that this is not Eizo professional monitor and that it is made mostly for gaming but I found excelent reviews in regard to image quality of this monitor. Here is one extremely detailed and with color gamut measurments:http://extrahardware.cnews.cz/recenze/hracsky-ips-eizo-foris-fs2333-podruhe-tentokrat-i-dobrymi-barvamiUnfortunatelly its written in Czech (I used Google translate to read it http://translate.google.de/translate?sl=cs&tl=en&u=http%3A%2F%2Fextrahardware.cnews.cz%2Frecenze%2Fhracsky-ips-eizo-foris-fs2333-podruhe-tentokrat-i-dobrymi-barvami )
