From the Epson 2200 to the 3880, I found a small, but noticeable to the naked eye after a pause to consider, improvement in quality, on a larger print, probably about 10" x 15". It just seemed a tad sharper overall. Note this was an upgrade from the much older 2200, and an evaluation based on a larger print than you are considering. I think that the difference between a newer (than the 2200) Epson and the 3880 would not be seen or appreciable on a 4" x 6" print. I have had problems with straight paper feed on my 3880 with the 4" x 6" size. Others on this site seem not to have had this problem. I got the R3000 to handle small prints and it has performed beautifully, also beautifully on larger ones, though of course you are limited to the 13" paper width with that printer. The R3000 does a very nice job, and if memory serves me, has larger ink cartridges than my older printer. --Barbara
