The Har-ki-dun valley in Uttarakhand, India
« on: November 27, 2012, 09:50:19 am »

Went on a trek to the Har-ki-dun valley in the Govind National park, Uttarakhand (India).

This is a fascinating region in the remote northwest corner of Uttarakhand. It is a moderately difficult trek that takes one into the heart of the Himalayas. Here the streams are still pure, the forests deep and dark and the mountains beautiful.

You can read a full illustrated account of the trek at this link :

Somendra ,
Thanks for sharing your trip report. This valley looks like it has yet to be spoiled by speculators.

I would be careful about drinking from high mountain streams anywhere near a herd of Yaks ...

yak shit + stream water + drinking = giardia
