Red River 8.5 x 25
« on: November 24, 2012, 08:39:34 pm »

Red River now offers some of their papers cut to 8.5 x 25. This size has lots of interesting possibilities for those of us with smaller printers. Just thought I'd make everyone aware. Does anyone else offer this size?

Your thread title reads 8.5 x 25, but your txt reads 8.5 x 11.   I'm assuming you mean 25" long/wide sheets?
If so, interesting for mini-pano images.

OPPS! You're right it is 8.5 x 25. Sorry. Panos yes and also options to cut to all kind of useful, unusual sizes. I have some in Polar Arctic Satin which is a very nice paper.

Why not buy a roll and cut to whatever size you want?

One word:  CURL!   ;D     I'll jump through some hoops to avoid dealing with paper curl.

If you cut the rolls into sheets ahead of the time and flatten the sheets under weight, you'll have flat sheets when you are ready to print.

I have half a box of a discontinued paper made by Museo. It is a 13" x 40" matte fine art paper that I use for the occasional pano. I find using this cut sheet to be much easier than cutting paper from a roll. It is the perfect paper for the 37.5" length limitation of the 3800 driver.

Sure you could cut paper from a roll or from larger sheets. I just thought this Red River size was unusual and quite handy so I thought I'd pass it on.

I was sad to see that paper discontinued -- it was perfect for printing panos with the 3800.  I only have a couple of sheets left, so now I'm using Museo Silver Rag 24" x 36" which I cut in half to 12" x 36".  I'd like to try the Innova Warm Cotton Gloss, but I guess they don't make large sheets.
