Lux FLE back from Leica NJ. THey did a wonderful job.
Wide open and I personally don't think the Bokeh is as bad as advertised. It's a heck of a lot more pleasing than the Canon 35L in my experience and opinion.
Wide open

Wide open and vignette added in post to both of these

I took the modified Jupiter-8 to the Udvar Hazy today, with a light yellow filter. This lens is RF coupled to 0.65m, which required removing an internal stop, "misthreading" the helical, and moving the rear module in closer to the front to reduce the focal length, then change the shim. Focus is good through to infinity. All shots at F2.

As Shot,

Processed with Fortran, used Gamma of 1.5, Intercept at -0.67, converted to 16-Bit DNG.

Nikki pointed out this one is wearing Mickey Mouse Ears.

It did launch from Florida.

I saw Bob Hoover doing stunts in this plane.

The Fortran code generates a 14-bit to 16-bit look-up-table using a Gamma curve, the extra 2-bits prevents collisions as the linear pixels are translated with the Gamma function.

$40 lens, including the shipping...

Went to the Skating rink today, brought the M Monochrom, J-8, Canon 100/2, and C-Sonnar.

The Canon is amazing. Smooth, long-throw focus.

Jupiter-8, modified for 0.65m RF coupled close-focus.

The C-Sonnar, wide-open at F1.5:

I found the short-throw more difficult to follow-focus. Basically turn the focus and pan at the same time.

Canon 100/2 wide-open, 1/45th second, ISO 10,000. Gamma curve added using Fortran. No NR or Sharpening.

The Canon is surprisingly easy to use "follow-focus".

50/1.1 Nokton, wide-open. I keep a Hot-Mirror filter on it, cuts down on purple fringing. Straight expost from LR6, no noise reduction, no sharpening.

Thanks so much for the kind words but you guys are embarrassing me and creativity shouldn't be a competition but a personal expression. So many great photographers that post here and see much differently from the way I see. Not better/worse just different and that is a good thing.

Ok now lets see some of those MM shots. Any one have the new one? If so lets see'm and those from the original lets see some. Brian and I can't be the only ones. (BTW really good stuff Brian).....
