Old & Gnarled

The heading probably is a description of myself as well as the subject!

As Walker Evans used to say when somebody brought something like this to one of his classes: "It's very pretty. So what?" Sorry Stamper, but you lost me completely with this one. What was the point?

With that subject line I thought someone had found an image of me.  With this one, have you tried it in B&W?

The B&W suggestion could be the best way to go with this image.

Thanks for the feedback. The lines and the shapes attracted me, like an octopus reaching out. I have always been surprised by what others like and dislike. In my camera club days you were allowed four submissions to a competition and usually the fourth best of what I thought was good others liked the best. I will look at the B&W version but to me nature is usually best when in colour?

It's funny, I think I'm trying to get a proper roots shots for several years now. I got close when I was in Acadia but they were hand-helded in low light so not too sharp. The last one is this one but I'm not happy with it either. I thought it will be better in color but somehow I settled for the BW version.
