Did trying street photography improve my nature photography?
« on: October 21, 2012, 08:25:59 pm »

I was getting bored with the urban routine, and went for a long overdue nature hike. I think my subconscious is seeking anthropomorphic drama in the wilderness.

Does anyone else find their artistic senses crossing-over between genres?

The famous landscape photographer Jack Dykinga is a Pulitzer Prize winner for documentary photojournalism, and he often credits that experience for his success as a landscape photographer.

Yes, and not just genres, but disciplines.

As a lifelong musician, one of the earlier and most important lessons was when NOT to play, and what to leave OUT.

Same thing applies to photography, as far as I can tell.
