last bloom of the year?

This is probably the last bloom in our yard for this year.

I like the first one very much; it's beautifully exposed.

First is my favourite. I usually shove the 'rule of thirds' down people's throats, but this seems really refreshing. Maybe its the fact fact there is nothing around it to distract the eye due to the super-shallow depth of field...

Yeah, my Dahlias froze a couple of nites ago and I just cut them down today.. will pull the bulbs out in a day or 2.

I like the first one as well. I was wondering how it would look if the background was more evenly diffused instead of the right top corner having the other stuff going on.
More like it was floating. Just a thought..

I agree, but I guess in this case it wouldn't have been possible to get it from such and angle and still have the Flower facing dead-on camera...
