This looks like a species of agave that grows outside my window here in southern AZ that absolutely fascinates me. I've taken numerous photos; can't get the lighting right.

It's Egyptian Papyrus Grass shot at Kanahapa Gardens in Gainesville, FL. My biggest difficulty in making this shot work is not having an adequate contrasting background. The grass grows in thick clumps making the addition of a black dropcloth or the such impossible.

I hope you weren't flattening the grass in the pursuit of this image which is very intriguing?

About as radical as I ever get with a plant is to use a plant clamp to steady it for a macro. I have a great respect for nature.
