Standarised EVFs, just a dream?
« on: September 30, 2012, 06:38:43 pm »

Looking and drooling over the new Leica M and looking at the EVF got me wondering. How likely is it that we will see EVFs that can be used across camera systems? I mean, how hard can it be? I really would like to use the same EVF on my Leica M and Sony NEX-11.

Any de-facto standard for connecting EVFs coming? Thoughts?

From what one can hear, the 200$ Olympus VF2 works like a treat on the leica X2 instead of the identical 500$ Leica one (see here or here)... so maybe on a M240 too?

I think we'll see standardized EVFs a year or two after we see a common lens mount....
