Hasselblad 50-110mm Compendium Shade/Hood Alternatives
« on: September 16, 2012, 04:32:56 am »

Hello,

Looking for a more budget friendly Compendium Shade/Hood Alternatives for my Hassy 50-110mm, and maybe with low height too, it scares me sometimes the amount of height put in the H3D body lens collar with the 50-110...

I think that any alternative solution it must have the huge 95mm filter to work.

Any experiences with this ones?

* FUJI GX680 compendium shade II
* Cokin X-Pro Hood (x350)

Another ones?
Thanks

Pedro

The Fuji gx680 compendium  lens hoods come in two sizes.  If you have a filter size of 95mm then you will need the larger one.

It slips onto a 100mm lens barrel with no bayonet. It has a locking screw to secure it to the lens.

The hasselblad 50-110 zoom has a maximum barrel diameter of 103mm, but I think that is the focusing ring.

I think the end of the barrel is 100mm.

I took a couple of photos of the lens hood for you...

The locking screw always loses the little plastic washer so you will need to put something on there to avoid scratching the side of the lens barrel.

It's a well built item and covers from 100mm to 300mm Fuji gx680 lenses.

That should cover your range. The only problem might be the end of the rails being caught when your shooting wide. However I think that
if you put the rail on above of below the lens it should be out of frame.
