So what do I know!
« on: September 13, 2012, 04:35:34 pm »

Elderly parents visiting for a few weeks and dad instantly wanted me to take him out and show him the best vantage point for a shot of the nearby Castle. The weather wasn't at its best that evening and it was only about 30 minutes before the sun (if we were lucky enough to see it) would set, but he was so keen to get a shot, even though I told him we would be wasting our time, but what the heck I mean he is my dad after all, so I did as I was told, threw my kit into the car and drove him down there anyway.

He was one happy puppy on the drive back I can tell you, and so was I for that matter.

One of your better shots Dave,

And harks back to the 1950s sit-com starring Robert Young: Father Knows Best.

Magnificent image Dave!

You and your Dad would have had a great time anyway but this result was a great cherry on the top.

Nice. Very nice.

Bill I thought you only liked lighthouses? ;) A well photographed scene - I haven't done it myself - and this is as good as any I have seen. :)

Thanks everyone  ;D

I was going to clone out the man on the bridge, but I sort of like the scale he gives to it - also note how it was blowing a gale with the Scottish flag at full stretch on the right.

Yes I am very happy with this shot, although I don't know if it is one to print, as to get all the darker tones to reproduce successfully might be a bit of a challenge.
