Renaming bug(?) while importing

[Photo Op]

I have created a renaming template. In that template I have used Custom to create the following result-

Before - IMG_0848.jpg
After- IMG_09-10-2012_12.34.16_0848.jpg

There is no problem when renaming a photo ALREADY in the catalog. However, when I try to apply the pre-set template in the Import-Renaming section the result becomes-

After- IMG_09-10-2012_12.34.16_0001.jpg

Any ideas?

Dave can you post a screenshot of the Filename Template Editor to show us how you put your preset together?
This will allow us to start solving the issue.
