Filter data
« on: August 23, 2012, 08:06:48 am »

Perhaps a stupid question as I'm sure
  • it's been asked before (but cannot find it in a search due to the other use of the term "filter" ;D)
  • the answer is staring me in the face and I can't see it...
...but...

is there a metadata field where I can input the filter(s) I used when making a photograph? Surely, if there are fields for location, body, serial number, aperture, shutter speed, EI and hundreds of other bits of photo-trivia about each and every shot, there must be a simple little field for "Filter"...
...or does this continue to be an over site?

I don't think so, Terry, not even in the IPTC extension (and I'm thinking as much of the industry as of LR).

What I'd suggest is abusing an existing field (Instructions?), a keyword, or look up my Big Note plug-in and use it to add your own field.

Thanks John. I've added BigNote.

It is a very basic plug-in and the code isn't too bad. Q a few people have extended it by adding extra fields.
