ipf8300 issue with Media Config tool
« on: August 19, 2012, 09:26:22 pm »

Adding a new custom paper (JDS-Shades of Paper Canvas) and when it comes to the "Adjust paper feed" it runs the print and cuts it off, but then says (on the printer display) "Cannot adjust the paper feed. Press to clear the error and readjust print head" in the config tool software it says "Printing error"

I did run a head adjustment with the sample roll of paper the printer came with "HW coated paper", but the same error came up when running the add custom paper agian. Do I need to run the head adjustment with the canvas?

Has anybody else seen this?

Thanks
Darren

All I can think of is that the canvas surface is too irregular to resolve the test patterns enough to meet the scanning criteria.  That's maybe longshot because I have successfully run the feed calibration on some pretty hairy looking canvas.

Have you set the suction and head height to the maximum?  Are you getting any ink swipe streaks on the canvas when running the MCT?

I assume the printhead alignment with the supplied matte test roll worked out OK.
