Risking the disdain of the forum
« on: August 18, 2012, 11:34:50 pm »

I am posting this shot, not because of the red bottle shot, but because ...I don't know, just because it was fun.

"RED CHAIR"

Aye, that it may be, but they were all red and I didn't make them that way.  ;D

I love it!
The caption should be "Take that, LuLa!"

Must have taken a lot of paint to make them all gray.   ;)

Well the food there better make up for it.

I dunno though, I can't say that I was deeply deeply moved the chair-only shot.  Maybe I've seen too many.  Or maybe I becoming overdosed from seeing too many iPhone shots modified by filters with names like "We Heart Boobies."  The result is very pink, which is a shade of red.  I didn't make that up.

I had no particular intents when I took the shot. I didn't see it as a B&W, and I remember wondering to myself why I made the exposure at all..boredom, I suppose while I waited for the missus to change out of her bathing suit. I did the cloth awning shot in the same time frame, though at least with it, there was a bit of initial direction.

it is kinda fun Chris. :-) My inital question to myself was "Why did he choose THAT particular chair to be red?? "  The answers kept me amused for some time... and like Eric... I came up with the grey paint thing... and you started at the other side of the room - ran out - then found just enough for the last one. LOL.

Julie :-)

I find both versions interesting, but I actually think that the centre of interest might well be the soldier-like array of condiments standing to attention and holding their regimented positions on the parade ground.

I hope they catch that mother Assange on the pavement. Or in a dark alley.

Perhaps if that particular chair is reflected in the doors, and it was also red in the reflection, that would add something ;-)

It would be a significantly better shot is there was a pretty girl sitting on or about the red air.  Is that brilliant or what?

Getting there; even more brilliant is if instead of sitting she's standing bending over the chair.

I'm beginning to get the hang of ciritique: I hadn't previously realised that it's a creative game! You get to invent scenarios of your own built around the rudimentary scaffold that's the original image; wonderful stuff, and so inspiring of the spirit! Don't even need to own an expensive camera at all!

Wish I'd discovered all of this years ago.

Chris, you do realise that you have proven that a photograph never lies? Why did you take the girl away in the first place?

She was a tasty little tart but not worthy to be in my image.
