We're using D1's in a repro studio where even a 100k shift is noticeable and a problem and sorry folks but the D1 isn't quite as good as you're saying it is. A half stop difference on the dial will produce a shift. Small but there.

What about the Profoto B600r?  How much shift is going on with these?  Have shot with them but have done nothing scientific.

Do you think there's any light available that doesn't shift ?

I've shot with the everything, including Broncolor and a 50K-100K shift is as good as it gets in my experience. Metering my D1s with the Minolta color meter I have to make a change of over 2 stops before mine shift. If I profile the camera for the specific shot and import the profile into LR it's not an issue.
