I recently started using CrashPlan, an online file storage service only to discover that my RAW files are restored as XMP files.
This doesn't make sense. Raw!=XMP they are completely different things.
I'm using Crashplan with raw files for KM and Sony, and no problem.Perhaps review your general settings and inclusions/exclusion criteria?
When you browse the Crashplan files, can you see the raw files? What happens if you copy, rather than restore, those files back to your machine? What happens if you take a text file and rename it to .cr2 and test it?
Well, definitely no problem backing up and restoring DNG files, but still no success with RAW. I supposed I could live with that except it's a pain converting RAW to DNG every time. I checked CrashPlan's exclusion files as well as my settings and it should be backing up RAW as per Farmer and Francois. The next step is to call tech support and get to the bottom of this.
