Low Cost Roll Paper 44"
« on: August 13, 2012, 01:44:11 pm »

Hi All!

I'm looking for a CHEAP source for 44" roll papers for my Epson 9890. Preferably a luster/satin finish.

I've been doing some print work for a framing company that does a lot of hospitality work (restaurants/hotels/etc.)
My gal tells me meisel (in texas) quoted her $7.67 for an 18x24 (qty 30)... sheesh. How do they get that low? That's
less than $3 sq/ft!

These all get dry mounted, so the paper doesn't have be be very heavy. I've been printing with epson premium luster 260
which they really like, but I don't see how I could ever compete with $3 sq/ft! Epson OEM inks too...

I'm all ears!

Thanks,
chadd.

I think it's kinda hard to get excited about "lustre" photographic papers.  How about Breathing Color's Vibrance Lustre paper?  http://www.breathingcolor.com/action/bc_shop/177/

44" roll x 100 runs about $147.  Very very similar to Epson Premium Lustre.

Inkjetart.com sells microceramic gloss lustre in 44" rolls.  Their paper prices are always very competitive, their products highly satisfactory and their service excellent.

We sell Epson's Luster paper for a few dollars more for the same size.   S042083
This part number will go right to the page for the paper.  We also sell a few other Luster papers, but they are more fine art.  Premier has their own, but it's only about 60' long.  If you have any questions, you can contact us via chat, by phone or even email.

Calumet sells Brilliant paper which is their OEM paper, just right under 100 bulks.
I've used it and pretty good for most of the thing.

I had forgot about the brilliant papers. The glossy is on sale. Redriver doesn't seem to have anything above 24" these days.
I'll have to get some samples of the inkjetmall papers to see if those would be acceptable.

Meisel appears to be using a lambda printer... hard to compete against something like that!

Thanks for the responses.
