Intriguing, in a 'what lies beneath' sort of way.  The rocks at the bottom of the image seem much larger, sharper and in contrast to the island, which looks small and vulnerable in comparison.  Perception is everything.

What does it evoke for you?
What Mike says is a good start.

When an image moves me emotionally, I have a hard time finding words that are the equivalent of the emotion.
In this image there is definitely a strong resonance between above and below. Sorry I can't express it better.

Thank you, Eric and Mike.
This pic comes from the Persistence Department. I have probably been to this spot a hundred times over the last few years, but on Thursday the lake and sky were especially cooperative. As were the moth larvae who kindly ate the tree leaves on the island, changing its colour and making it stand out against the background.

Like that...I always enjoy shots that show you below the surface, they always suggest an element of danger to me....which I like, interests sing image....well done.

Thanks Shaun and Jose.
This place can feel dangerous under the conditions shown in this image: beneath fresh, clear ice of uncertain thickness.

Obviously, you survived!

Well done for your island photo above. It took me some time to appreciate but in then end I find it pleasing.
