I just saw this one at a client's and they couldn't be happier with it. I think theirs was this exact model if I remember correctly.

Is there a reason why you want a table cutter vs. wall cutter? Wall cutters are nice since they take up less room.

^Agreed. I bought a used F-T wall mounted cutter. Works with foam core, gator, glass, etc. Love the fact it takes up very little space.

great idea, but a bit pricey.
doesn't mean i can't set up a wall cutter using a different cutter.
working with a small budget makes me look for cheaper set ups.

I would get whatever size you need. That is just the one they went with.

I have a Keencut Javelin and am really happy with it.
It's the 104" model because I do quite a bit of 4x8's
FWIW I also got it with their table.

Buy it used off of craigslist. I bought mine for $500 granted I had to drive 3 hours one-way to pick it up in my minivan.

it actually comes with 3 heads -a medium duty blade, heavy duty blade and a circular fabric cutter.

Call me old fashioned, but I am extremely fond of these straightedge cutters, I have the 64" and 100" models.  Even though my table is not 100" long, I can cut 96" long backing by lightly clamping together the backing and the straightedge at the overhanging end.  It's not as stupid as it sounds.  PS the picture showing the hand positions on the web page is not how you do it.  You grasp the knife between the thumb and the next two fingers, then slide your smaller fingers along the upward projection to maintain a perfectly 90 degree knife orientation.

http://www.cutting-mats.net/pro-safety-straightedges.html

And these cutting mattes still give me crisp, burr-free cuts after maybe 4000 brutal cuts with a utility knife.  They look totally chewed up, doesn't matter.  The supplier will cut them down to whatever size you want.  I got mine trimmed to 36 x 80 to fit my Lowes Lauan door which sits atop a 72" fold-up utility table.  The fold-up table top has a piece of rug glued to it.  The friction fit between the Lauan door and the rug allows the cutting matte and Lauan door to be easily shifted to accommodate big pieces in a small space.
