From a marsh in Ontario earlier this spring. These guys are such skulkers...

You were close enough that you didn't need the 1.4 converter! Nice image of a normally very shy bird (though we've been able to approach them in kayaks much more closely than I expected. No 500mm lens in the boat, however.)
