A few shots taken on the beach, with an approaching storm.

I am not exactly certain of your intent here - perhaps you have succeeded brilliantly - but overwhelmingly the adjectives that comes to mind to describe these images are bleakness and even sadness.
I apologise if I have got the wrong end of the stick.

Perhaps, you haven't read the news about the disasterous rainfall in the area

Tony,

My intent was to show the dramatic light and sky, that came over the Aktau area close to sunset. I had walked in the morning in the same beach, close to the hotel where I was staying. I have uploaded some more photos to show the area in that same morning, with more sunshine.

Yes, the area is bleak, as the facilities in the beach are crumbling and rusty, for lack of maintenance. However, people are very friendly, and they do use the beach.

Paulo,

It does appear that you have indeed captured the impression of the area.
No criticism of the photography.
