Lake Louise
« on: July 05, 2012, 12:14:29 pm »

One of the great places we visited to photograph was Lake Louise.  But especially The Valley of the Ten Peaks and Moraine Lake.  We were there on the fist day it was opened, I think Victoria Day in Canada.  The snow, as we walke around the half frozen lake, was to our knees.  Just so quiet and beautiful.  After years I am scanning the slides taken that day.  As I view them it was amazing.  On the way we saw so much game, bears, rams, mountain goats and sheep.  What a great place and a great day.

That is a beautiful area. I've only been there in mid-summer when there is (somewhat) less snow to wade through.
I hope you'll post some of your shots.

I was there 7 or 8 years in summer, a very beautiful place indeed.

So is the whole Icefield Parkway by the way.

Cheers,
Bernard

I've been there too, a long time ago. Fog was so thick that visibility was in the 2 to 5 meter rangeā€¦

Have been to Moraine lake a couple of times in the past 50 years.  It is an epic area; I like it better than Lake Louise.  At Lake Louise the hike to the Tea House is not to be missed.
